Harvy2 is a wireless LoRaWAN sensor of the latest generation for metering electrical currents and energy flows. It is versatile and easy to install. Unlike common LoRaWAN sensors, it does not require a battery or external power supply. Once installed, it runs autonomously and maintenance-free. This IoT sensor draws the energy it needs for operation from the magnetic field at the electrical conductor: it is sufficient to have an average current of 1 A flowing through one of the monitored wires. The principle behind it: Energy Harvesting. 

One typical application of the Harvy2 is the metering of RMS currents in electrical mains, sub-distribution boards, or directly from the machines. Simply connect (up to) four deZem clamp-on current transformers to the sensor and clamp them on the desired wires - done! In addition, when using a deZem voltage converter, Harvy2 is able to determine the active power and many other parametres for each phase of the three-phase current. This data is transmitted to any IoT platform where it becomes visible and usable.

  • Effective-current LoRaWAN sensor, for use with deZem current transformers;
  • 4 input channels, 0-250 mA AC;
  • Self-powered through integrated "energy harvesting" (no battery needed);
  • Optionally a galvanically isolating deZem voltage converter can be connected to input 4; in this case, active load measurement is possible via deZem current transformers on the three remaining inputs;
  • LoRaWAN v1.04, Class A Device, worldwide operation: EU868, US915, AU915, IN865, KR920 and AS923 (not yet CN);
  • USB-C for configuration, firmware updates, displaying metered values, quick charge;
  • JST plug-in system for deZem current transformers and voltage converter, if applicable;
  • Adapter cable RJ45/4xJST included;
  • Current and voltage transformers as well as extension cable not included.
  • LoRaWAN antenna with an SMA connector is not included in the scope of delivery.

Accessory products

The Harvy2 has two modes of operation. It can measure the current of up to four cores, in which case one to four hinged current transformers are required.

The second mode is to measure the power of up to three cores. This requires one to three clamp-on current transformers and a deZem voltage transformer.
A LoRaWAN antenna of your choice can be connected via the standardised SMA connector.
